Farscape Convention 2001

On September 9, 2001, in New York City, I attended the official Farscape convention.

The guests were Ben Browder and Claudia Black.

I honestly don't remember much of it. Ben came out, full of energy, and stood on a chair in the middle of the room. I have a photo of this but it's poor quality.

We didn't have good seats, and I was just using a disposable camera, so I really didn't get any good photos of anything that happened on stage.

I didn't get to meet Claudia or get an autograph because only the people in the "gold seating" could get her autograph.

You didn't have to have the expensive seats to get an autograph from Ben, though. I was with my parents and my brother. The line was super long, but my dad talked the people with the convention into letting us get in line before our row would have been called because we had to catch our train back to Connecticut (which was true).
We got up to the table where Ben was seated, and my mom said to him, "You have sexy eyes." I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me. Like, dude, you don't say something like that to someone you just met, no matter who it is. There are other ways to compliment someone on their eyes. He was so cute about it, though, and just smiled and said "Thank you."
When it was my turn, I don't remember what I said to him. I was just impressed by how nice and friendly he was and also the way his eyes looked so clear and baby blue in person. I did ask if I could take a picture with him. He said technically they weren't supposed to do pictures, but it was ok with him.
So my mom was taking the picture and something happened with the camera so he thought she already took the picture, but by the time she actually snapped the photo, he was already turned towards me to say that it was nice meeting us. So I have this really cute photo of us:

The schedule for the day. In the bottom right I have the back of my brother's ticket signed by David Kemper and Andrew Prowse.

Side note: Yes, this was 2 days before 9/11 in New York City. Both Ben and Claudia had still been in the city on 9/11, and I remember fans worrying about them. I remember that they eventually posted on the Scifi Channel Farscape chatroom that they were ok. If I remember correctly, Claudia said they took a walk together that night and lit some candles.
